Dietbet begins tomorrow

Ok, I think I'm ready!! Well of course I'm ready! Taking the plunge and joining a Dietbet/MamaMclaughlin's challenge will give me the motivation I need to lose 4% of my starting weight, which is 196lbs...so, 4% that is -7.8lbs or  188.2lbs. I've been reading some of the other "better's" post and they're doing plans like 21 Day Fix, weight watchers, etc. We'll I'm doing Herbalife for at least the first week. So we'll see how that goes.

Also, speaking of herbalife, today was day one and honestly I don't know how long this is gonna last. I'm starting with replacing 2 meals a day, breakfast and lunch, and a clean dinner. Tonight was baked tilapia, half baked sweet potato and green beans. Needless to say, I was hungry! But I fought thru it. Tomorrow will be a better day, especially since I'll be getting my butt back into the gym from being sick the last week and a half. I'm praying for energy, stamina, and motivation to get back on track.

So here's to a restful night, and an awesome day tomorrow.

Biggest Loser Begins TONIGHT!!

Ok, so I completely forgot The Biggest Loser Season 17 was coming back on again!! Woohoo!! So finally, I've decided I'll weigh-in EVERY MONDAY that The Biggest Loser is scheduled to air until the finale.
Yeah, I know I posted earlier today, but I'm planning to weighn in every Monday and at the end, I'll reward myself!! WOOHOO!!

So, I think there are 18 episodes, and therefore, I think that's 18 weeks, and May 9th will be the final weighin day for myself (or whenever the final episode of season 19 might be.

I already previously stated my goals, along with Herbalife, clean eating, and exercise, I'm planning to NOT care much about the pounds as much as the inches and DEFINITELY building endurance and eating clean.

My starting weight, 196lbs

Let's do this!!!

Commitment

COMMITMENT: n. the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.

That is the definition I found for the word commitment! And on this day, Jan 4, 2016, I commit to giving every opportunity to getting fit and building strength and stamina. I'm not looking at weight, per say, but if I lose weight along the way, then that's all right with me!

Today I officially weighed in for my DietBet/MamaLaughlin and it starts on Wednesday. Also, received my package of Herbalife that I will start tomorrow. I'm scared and excited all at the same time. I don't plan to do this forever, or even for more than a month, or so. I want to give it my all but I don't want to be dependent on Herbalife or any meal replacements. I just want to get a jump start on things and get my "weightloss" rolling. For as they say, "Summer bodies are made in the Winter!!"

Honestly, I wouldn't have thought about trying Herbalife until I talked to my cousin over Christmas holiday. She said that is what she did a few years ago, and I remember she lost some very noticeable inches. So, I thought I would give it a shot, at least for 1 month. I'm hoping it will keep me full and the tea will help give me the energy I need to get through the day and to get through my workouts.

So, cheers to a new day, a new beginning, a new year!!! I'm going to dedicate my time to eating better, drinking water, and exercise!

SW: 196.0lbs

I don't know what I want my goal weight to be, but some other types of goals I have are:

  • complete a 5k without stopping to walk
  • take at least 1 class at Gold's Gym or Sportscenter per week.
  • begin swimming
  • drink 1 gallon of water per day
  • strength training/lift weights at least 3 times per week
  • Commit to 21 days of exercise (starting Jan 5)
As far as goals for my emotional well being:
  • schedule a session with a counselor
  • pray
  • read the bible
  • daily mantras

This will be an awesome year, and I want to make the the best year of my life yet!!

Changes Will Be Made

Unfortunately, I'm still sick and I STILL haven't been able to workout!! My original goal was to start working out on Jan 1, 2016...well, with today being Jan 2, 2016, I haven't been able to meet that goal! I feel a little bit better, but I'm still having issues breathing and my energy is drained.
I'm praying tomorrow will be a much better day! I've been taking medicine all day and drinking orange juice, so hopefully after a good night's rest, I'll be up and at 'em in the morning to get my butt back in the gym!

I was browsing youtube today and I came across a video where a woman challenged herself to work out for 21 days straight, to form a habit. Well, she did it and she states she actually formed the habit where she didn't want to go a day without working out.

So, on today, I'm challenging myself to workout for 21 days STRAIGHT!!! Hopefully I'll be feeling better to get back to the gym tomorrow, or outside to run/walk. But even if I'm not tomorrow, whatever day I start will be Day 1 for me.

I've been viewing so many motivational videos on youtube of how women challenged themselves to either change their eating or to change their exercise, or to start exercising. I don't want to look back 6 months to a year from now and regret not starting and sticking to a plan!!

Also, I'm going to sign up for a dietbet challenge that starts on Jan 5. It's Mama Laughlin's DietBet and she actually is giving away all expense paid trip for 2 to anywhere in Mexico or the Caribbean! Woohoo!!!! Since I already went to Cancun for my 40th birthday this past October, I'd LOVE to go to Cozumel, Mexico!! I like the concept of dietbet because it's an accountability method that I'm paying $35 and for 4 weeks my goal is to lose 4% of my starting weight. If I meet my goal, I'll get a portion of the pot. And as of now the pot is $37,660 with 1076 participants. I'll keep you posted!!

I'm praying for the best me I can be in 2016...not only to have more energy and to lose weight, but I want to complete a 5k race without stopping to walk, improve my skin, balance my hormones, and to be more toned and have so much more endurance. This is my time to shine, and I have EVERY intention on accomplishing those goals this year!! Amen!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Image result for HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016
Today will be the beginning of the rest of my life!!!!!
I say that because I plan to live each day like it's my last! Yes, unfortunately I'm still under the weather today, I have every intention when I get 100% better to go gung ho and live in the moment and stop worrying about tomorrow!! I have goals in 2016 but I can't meet those goals if I'm stressing about my weight, my skin, my money, etc.

Day 1
Starting today, my primary focus is eating clean!! I'm attempting to go cold turkey and do 100% clean, but I think today might be 80/20 (80% clean, 20% not clean)

BREAKFAST
2 scrambled eggs with chopped baby spinach and sausage

Yeah, I know pork sausage isn't my best choice, but it's what I had on hand and it get's the job done with my protein intake.

No Resolutions, Just Make Changes

Well, in about 7 hours from now, it will be 2016!!! It's so hard to believe 2015 is practically over! I turned 40 in October and I spent it in Mexico with my BFF, Fuzz (Harold). Also, I sold my townhouse in April, which was such a relief for me. I HATED living in that townhouse; and now I'm living with Fuzz and trying to save as much money as possible. I also had 2 surgeries...one in March which was a LEEP, and a I finally got those extra breast tissue under my armpit removed in June!! I feel so much more confident when I wear strapless tops now. Anyway, those were the upsides of 2015!! The downsides were I lost an aunt and an uncle (Aunt Bones (Myra) and Uncle Danny) They will be missed truly. Health issues played a part in their deaths, and that is another reason why I'm planning to be so much more health conscious and more active in 2016.

So, again, I'm not making any resolutions, I'm simple changing my game plan for 2016.
  1. a minimum 1hr exercise 6/d/wk
  2. journal my food daily using MyFitnessPal and/or SparkPeople
  3. 1 gallon of water/day (less if trail run/walk)
  4. No less than 6 days/week
  5. Continue multivitamins and Pregnitude
  6. Weigh only once/mth on scale.
  7. NSV (non scale victories) once a month
  8. $1/hr workout
  9. Eat clean!
  10. PRAYER!!!!!
Journaling will help me too because it will be a way to help me stay accountable and focused on my goals. Remember, summer bodies are built in winter!!

Get Ready....Let's do this!!!
